From Sweater to Scarf and More

I had been looking for ideas on what to make out of old sweaters and found some on Pinterest.  This project is simple, quick and inexpensive.  I bought a sweater at Salvation Army and cut off the bottom half of the sweater (under the arms) and cut off the sleeves. I took the bottom part and made a small hem, using wonder under tape and an iron, to keep it from fraying. This will become an infinity scarf.  I used the sleeves as boot toppers.  I turned the sleeve inside out and pulled it over my pants, put on the boots, zipped them up and then rolled down the top of the sleeve over the boots.  So, the scarf and boot toppers match perfectly. This is the same sweater, it looks different because of the lighting. Lots of compliments on this one 🙂
