Baby Shower at Church

Its-a-shower[1]

As president of our local UMW (United Methodist Women), I am always looking for creative ways to educate the women of our church on local issues and needs.  I had heard of another church holding a baby shower for Mission Central,  a non-denominational organization that collects items for Layette Kits, which are sent to women all over the world.  The purpose of the shower was to collect the items and educate the attendees on who receives the Layette Kits.  Our church members embraced this idea and invited the women of the church to the shower. There were pink and blue decorations, party favors, yummy food, short program and of course, baby shower games!  The invitations included the specific items needed for the Layette Kits.  The attendees brought the unwrapped items and placed them on a table, which were then prayed over before delivering them to Mission Central.  What a great way to fellowship with a purpose!

Some of the games have included:  What is the Baby Animal Called; Name What a Group of the Animal is Called; Can You Guess the Real Children’s Book Name; Old Wives’ Tales Trivia, and Guess the amount of candy in the Baby Bottle.
