Fluffernutter Crisp Rice Treats

I saw this recipe in the Susquehanna Style June magazine and decided to try it.  Oh my goodness, it turned out wonderful and was delicious!  Just had to share this, as it’s easy to make and very impressive looking!  Here is the recipe or you can go to Susquehanna Style website.

10 oz. bag regular size marshmallows
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
5 cups crisp rice cereal
1 1/4 cups mini marshmallows
1 10 oz. bag peanut butter morsels, melted
2 bags (8 oz. each) miniature peanut butter cups (I bought the family size bag, which had 14 oz. and was a little less expensive than buying 2 bags)

1. Butter an 8 inch baking dish and then place foil in the dish and butter the foil.
2. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat, add regular size marshmallows and turn heat to low. Stir until smooth.  Remove from heat and quickly stir in peanut butter. Add cereal.
3. Fold in the mini marshmallows. Pour/scoop mixture into prepared baking dish. Very gently smooth the top of the mixture, do not press tightly. Spread melted peanut butter morsels on the top.  Top the melted morsels with the miniature peanut butter cups, pressing them in.  Allow to sit 1 hour and then pull foil out of pan and place on a plate to cut into squares, delicious!
